DIY Backless T-Shirt
Inspiration: Alexander Wang

I started this project by buying two t-shirts at Target for $3.99 each. I bought one in my size and the other in XXL. I ripped the side seams on both:

Once the seams were ripped up to the armpit, I cut the fabric off of the smaller shirt and completely removed the back from the larger shirt. I ended up with two pieces that looked like this:

I messed around with the layering, and when I was happy with the result, I pinned the sections together. I then turned the shirt inside-out and sewed along the pins. Lastly, I added a button to the top panel to make it more fitted. Overall, it took me about 30 minutes. Easy project, if you have a sewing machine!

oh wow that looks really amazing… i think ill try that! thanks for posting that up!
You have a sewing machine ! Nice !
Love the shirt (and the inspiration shirt!) but I have to ask: what’s the bra situation with a backless shirt? Clearly I’m not all that into fashion, because I can’t even begin to figure out how one would navigate that hurdle.
You can wear a backless bra or just go without. :)
