And, Then, I Went to Tahoe
After Los Angeles, I drove to Sacramento to meet up with a friend. I don’t really have too much to say about the drive, because I was running on 3 hours of sleep and a lot of energy drinks due to the night before’s shenanigans:
Don’t even ask, because I don’t know how to explain…
But, I made it to Sacramento. Somehow. From there, my friend and I made the relatively short drive to Tahoe to get in some skiing. We stayed in South Lake Tahoe and hit up Heavenly first. I sprained my MCL in Montana during a ridiculously stupid fall, so I took precaution and duct taped my knee. I’m incredibly responsible and a pro at DIY knee repairs, except I mean the opposite.
After filling up some flasks (true story), we headed up the hill. It was…hot, but we managed to not completely embarrass ourselves whilst skiing through something resembling half (mostly)-melted snow cones. It was beautiful, however:
Also, our skiing was interspersed between random “flask breaks” in odd locations, like the terrain park:
It sure as hell beat $10 beers in the lodge. I highly recommend smuggling in booze. Speaking of, we unintentionally ended the day at a ski patrol party. They had us at “$2 beer”. I also met this guy. He’s 90, skis every day, and loves Heavenly and girls in skirts (so, he probably didn’t like me):
Yeah, if I lived in a ski town, there is a very good chance that I would constantly look like crap. Showering and wearing actual clothes to parties is overrated. Don’t judge.
After the ski patrol shindig, my friend and I had grand plans of hitting up the casinos and hanging out with some new friends, but alas, we fell asleep/passed out at 8. It was not a very good showing from us. However, we were well rested for our second day, which was spent at Northstar Resort. We pretty much dominated that place.
